On the morning of October 26th 2017, at Hall A, Vinh University has organized to give subsidy for 178 students in storm affected areas. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Dinh Phuong, member of the Executive Committee of Party Committee, Vice President of Vinh University chaired this event.

In recent time, the storm and flood have seriously damaged to people and property of the State as well as people in the Central provinces (Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri). Floods have caused dozens of people dead and missing, hundreds of house have been flooded, thousands of hectares of rice, crops and industrial crops have been lost; many schools, hospitals and public construction have been damaged; many traffic routes have been cut off; many areas have been isolated by flood. It has been estimated that the total damage is up to thousands of billion VND.

Facing the heavy losses caused by the flood, the Party Committee and the University’s directorate has instructed Vinh University Trade Union to launch the supporting movement for flooded victim. The total amount of donation is 217.820.568 VND.

On October 18th 2017, Vinh University issued the Official dispatch No. 1243/DHV-CTCTHSSV on the consideration of giving subsidy for students in storm affected areas. In total, there are 178 subsidies with 118 students in category 1 (1.000.000VND/student) and 60 students in category 2 (500.000VND/student). The total amount of the subsidy is 148.000.000VND.

Speaking at this event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Dinh Phuong has shared the difficulties and losses of students which caused by the storm number 10. These small subsidies are practical contributions from officials and lecturers of Vinh University.
